Photography II
Open to anyone who has taken the Introduction to Photography Class or has similar experience, this class will help you take your photography to the next level and get you consistently shooting higher quality images.  We’ll delve more deeply into some of the topics covered in the Intro Class, such as the use of depth of field and shutter speed as compositional tools, light and lighting, and composition and the art of seeing. We’ll have shooting time in each class to practice different types of photography, including still life, portrait, landscape and close-up photography. Winterscapes-Photography-WorkshopCape Cod Winterscapes
February 27-March 1

Come discover Cape Cod’s winterscapes–everything from the natural beauty of the beaches and marshes to shuttered business and deserted harbors and streets. We’ll also take advantage of the shorter day-light hours to experiment with low light photography, shooting some scenes at twilight and beyond. Along the way we’ll work on winter shooting tips, how to improve your eye by “seeing” a scene, low light photography and editing techniques to get your pictures looking their best.  Offered through Cape Cod Art Association. Click for more information.

Iceland-Photography-workshop-3Iceland Photography Workshop
March 5-10
In this six-day all-inclusive workshop we will journey through parts of southeastern and southwestern Iceland, a stunning landscape where we can see  the Northern Lights, ice caves, spectacular waterfalls, glaciers, icebergs, dramatic coastlines, geysers, mountains, Icelandic horses and more. We will be visiting Iceland in early March when the weather is similar to the weather in the Northeast U.S., and when the amazing Aurora Borealis is visible in the evenings.  The six-day adventure includes hotels, meals, ground transportation, hotel transfers and air travel (excluding international air). Click here for full itinerary and costs. Offered through Cape Cod Art Association.

Photoshop II: Layers, Masks, Selections and More
Take your images to a new level using intermediate and advanced editing techniques available in Photoshop and Photoshop Elements.
– Adobe Camera Raw (and Lightroom), basic and advanced processing
– Layers, layer modes and masking
​- How to optimize “lighting,” control shadow/highlights, give your work more dimension and help guide the viewer through your image using advanced dodge and burn techniques
​- Color control using Replace Color, Match Color, modes, paintbrushes and other techniques to optimize your colors, change colors and remove color casts
​- Sharpening and blurring strategies to make your images pop
– Advanced selection tools
​- Re-touching techniques for portraits, landscapes and other images.
– Working with Lightroom and Photoshop
